Interaction Design

Design Thinking

  • Spring 2020
  • Challenged my way of critical thinking by teaching me how to empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test in order to solve real world problems. Implemented design thinking process on the following projects:

Design Sprint 1: Morning Routine Challenge

  • Designed an interactive mockup of a morning commuting app to help a user decide which method of transportation to take to school, based on their class schedule for the day.

Design Sprint 2: Working Routine Challenge

  • Worked with classmates to develop The Incubator, a company/employee matching program that was developed in response to discovering that, while job hunting, people want to experience different positions and work environments while still having employment security. See attached project website.

Prototyping for Interaction

  • Spring 2020

Final Project: Omi Timer

  • Conducted empathy interviews and user research about the changes in elementary school learning due to COVID-19, and in response, prototyped my solution: Omi Timer. I created a physical prototype as well as an interactive demo using Scratch to showcase how the product would work towards helping children transition to full time home schooling.

Creative Code

  • Fall 2019

Final Project: Interactive Children’s Menu

  • Recreated Frasca Kid’s Menu by redesigning the interface and programming the interactive Game Center, which includes a playable version of “Connect 4”. Programmed using JavaScript and HTML. Used JavaScript and HTML to redesign an electric version of a restaurant’s kid’s menu that includes an interactive game center.

Shape Patterns

  • Designed an interactive mockup of a morning commuting app to help a user decide which method of transportation to take to school, based on their class schedule for the day.

Design Fundamentals II

  • Spring 2019
  • Designed an interactive mockup of a morning commuting app to help a user decide which method of transportation to take to school, based on their class schedule for the day.

Design Fundamentals I

  • Fall 2018
  • Final portfolio consisted of graphic designs incorporating Gestalt design principles including overlap, touch, edges and combination, as well as color theory.
